The problem can be found in the control system, which can lead to overheating.
In China, Beijing Benz, a joint adventure Mercedes-Benz, announced the recall of 13447 EQC electric vehicles made from November 30, 2018 to September 17, 2022. It was reported by Cnevpost.
The reason for recall is the weakness in high -voltage battery management system software. Under some severe conditions, it can lead to the battery’s so -called “heat acceleration” – a process that can cause a car fire.
Beijing Benz plans to update the battery management system software to all affected vehicles through official service centers. Prior to implementing the entire recall program, the car manufacturer recommended that those with EQC limit to limit battery charging up to 80%.
The EQC was the first Mercedes-Benz electric car, which made his debut in the Chinese market in November 2019. However, back in 2022, Chinese owners began to widely complain about electric motor problems in this model.
This is the second case in three months, when Mercedes-Benz recalled electrical cars in China because of the risk of a battery fire.
We reminded, earlier that Audi recalled about 90 thousand cars due to motor oil leakage.
Demand for cars from China to Ukrainians grew 70%
