In Ukraine, the loss of yield of peaches and apricots in some farms has reached 100%. The reason is the frosts and relatives of the droughts that hit the gardening in Ukraine. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the All -ukrainian Agrarian Council Denis Marschuk in a briefing at the Ukrainian Media Center.
“Due to relative drought and frost, there are some losses. Speaking of cultures, then, of course, fruit trees, butterfly are most affected. In some farms, losses are 100%, especially, if we talk about apricots and peaches. Suffering, apple trees, “he said.
This has been shown at prices – fruit crops can increase the price by at least 30%.
“On average, more than 30% compared to last year, this category of products can increase in price,” Marschuk said.
In addition, hoping for imported products that can balance the price is also not justified.
“I would also like to rely on imports that can slightly balance the price position, but such a situation almost throughout Eastern Europe has frost, and the potential imports that can take place in Ukraine are also gone,” he explained.
Keep in mind that in Ukraine this year the wheat harvest is expected at a level of 17.9 million metric tons. This is a 13-year minimum and 23% less than last year.
According to the UN (FAO) Food and Agricultural Organization, the harvest of wheat in Ukraine in 2025 was lower than the average of five years.
