More than 30% of the volume of electricity consumption in Moldova in April came from local resources. Such numbers have become an indicator of the record and significant growth compared to 23% in March.
The total capacity of power plants operating on renewable resources in April exceeded 665 MW. Over the past four years, the power of the industry has grown eight times.
The average annual part of the changing resources in the consumption structure for 2025 is predicted to a level of more than 20%. Last year, this indicator reached 16.7%, at 2023 – 9.2%.
In the framework of European integration changes, Moldova has pledged to increase part of the renewable resources in the consumption structure of 2030 to 30%.
For this, tenders were launched for the construction of solar and wind power plants with a total capacity of 165 MW. The winners of the first twist of the tenders should be expressed in the near future. The next is expected in the fall of 2025. Candidates are imposed not only for generation construction, but also for the possibilities of electricity storing to provide the system with additional flexibility.
Keep in mind that last December, the Moldova Emergency Commission introduced a series of steps to prevent electricity offering, reducing consumption.
