The company works as quickly as possible and ensures that customer safety is its highest priority.
General Motors announced a large-scale review of nearly 721 thousand cars in the world, where there were nearly 598 thousand in the USA, due to a 6.2-liter V8 engine problem that could lose power or fail, car and drivers reports.
The decision was made against the rear of the investigation, which at the beginning of the year began by the National Security Department of US roads after receiving 39 complaints about the destruction of machines. Although the investigation continued, GM decided to voluntarily remove vehicles.
The list of models falling under review includes popular cars 2021–2024 model years, in particular Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevy Silverado 1500, Suburban and Tahoe, as well as GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The reason for the recall is the defects of the crankshaft and connecting rods that may occur during the manufacture of machines. It can lead to power loss or a complete mechanical stop.
All cars that fall under the campaign must pass the inspection. If the engine does not see the defects, entrepreneurs will replace the oil filter, the filler’s neck cover and flood oil with a higher viscosity of 0W-40. If the problems are confirmed, the engine will be repaired or completely replaced.
The company also issued an order to suspend sales of associated models in dealerships.
We reminded, earlier that Volkswagen recalled 180 thousand SUVs due to the threat of fire.
