The “many questions” have changed in 16 areas, due to which this investment becomes “more unpredictable,” Donald Tusk said.
Representatives of Poland and the United States have signed a new construction agreement of the first Polish NPP. This was announced by Ukrinform on Monday, April 28th.
It is indicated that in the presence of Poland Donald Tusk government and US energy minister Chris Wright, the document was signed by the State Company leaders of the Polish Nuclear Power Plant and American Company Westinghouse and Bechtel.
In a briefing, Tusk said a “new best agreement” was signed – many questions were changed to 16 places, due to which this investment becomes “more predictable”.
For his part, Wright emphasized that Washington is building a long -term partnership with Warsaw, based on “collaboration with investments that have been ahead of needs in many years old.”
“The fact that the first nuclear power plant, based on new technologies, was built in Poland, is the result of Polish -american cooperation, relationship between people and government,” Wright emphasized.
He also assured that the United States would build more nuclear power plants not only in Poland, but also in other European countries.
Remember that in September 2023, Poland and the United States signed a Pomeranian Nuclear Power Plant construction agreement. Its three reactors should begin to produce electricity by 2033.
And in March 2025, Poland President Andrzej Duda signed a law at the allocation of 60.2 billion Zlotys (more than $ 15 billion) for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in the country.
