About messages about accidents, fires or injuries caused by this malfunction have not been reported, the manufacturer says.
The Audi car manufacturer remembers 44387 cars made in 2021, due to the digital panel mistake of devices, Motor1 reports.
Although the problem is programmatic, its roots are associated with hardware. In all of these cars, the computer system controls the flow flow through the cable, which relates to the digital display. If at least a slight voltage change is recorded, the display is turned off, which should be protected against voltage jumps. However, it has passed that over time the cable may be slightly damaged, and it is sufficient for the system to adjust the increase in resistance and turn off the screen.
The problem reminds exclusive models of the year 2021 model model. According to US National Road Safety Administration (NHTSA) documents, the list of recalled cars includes: A6, S6 Sedan, A6 Allroad, A7, A8, S7, RS7, S8, Q7, SQ7, Q8, SQ8, RSQ8 and RS6 Avant.
Audi first learned about the problem in April 2024. After several months of investigation, the cause was revealed – a faulty cable. It is interesting -friendly that the Audi supplier managed to switch to that -Pimize version of the cable, starting with the year 2022 model of the year, so the problem was remembered exclusively in 2021 cars.
Instead of changing the cable, Audi plans to install a software update that will make the system more sensitive to voltage change. If the deviation is found, the display will not be removed, and the driver will receive a warning with the advice to contact the service.
Audi claims that he has not received reports of accidents, fires or injuries caused by this poor function.
The message to the sellers about the review has begun. The owners will receive an official notice until May 30th.
