Find out when Irene & Seulgi’s first Comeback from Red Velvet will be released, after five years of the debut of ‘Monster’
Reveluv, the wait is over! After five years without releases, one of the most famous Units of the third generation of K-Pop, Irene & Seulgi, is finally preparing the long awaited Comeback.
According to reports released by SM Entertainment, the pair should make their return in mid-May with a mini album. The company also fired the fans saying, “Please look forward to.”
The latest release of Red Velvet members took place in July 2020, with ‘Monster’, thus marking his debut as Official Unit.
Remember that, both Seulgias Irenerenewed their exclusive contracts with the agency in August 2023 and February 2024, respectively, different from members Yeri and Wendy which recently decided not to renew the exclusivity clause with SM, thus ending the contracts. However, despite the departure of the company, the artists expressed gratitude and thanked the fans for their support, as well as claiming that their priorities will always be Red Velvet, and will continue to promote the group with the other members.

Irene & Seulgi is the first official Unit of Girlgroup Red Velvet, formed by the members Bae Juhyun (Irene) and Kang Seulgi. The project was launched on July 6, 2020, under SM Entertainment, the same label responsible for the original group. The pair debuted with the “Monster” mini album, which also named the main single.
The EP has six tracks, including “Monster”, “Naughty”, “Diamond” and “Feel Good”, and was very well received by much of the public and the media, especially because it is the first SM initiative with an subunit of the group. Marked by the visual concept with dark elements, impactful choreographies and a distinct aesthetics from what had been explored by the main group until then.
Monster’s music video surpassed 10 million views in the first 24 hours and was followed by complementary releases, such as the choreographed clip of “Naughty”.
