The company confirmed a publication accident on the local social network Weibo. It is claimed that the operation of the emergency response to autopilot was enabled before the accident. In this mode, the car rides about 17 minutes at an average speed of 116 km/h. According to Xiaomi, the electric car initially warned after seeing the front barriers and began to slow down, and then the driver took the control of the car and tried to slow down. After a second, the car collided with a concrete fence on the road, and the final speed confirmed by the system before the collision reached nearly 97 km/h.
In the accident, the driver and two passengers died.
According to the manufacturer, the car with an accident is a standard version of the SU7, with less advanced technology of smart driving without cover compared to better adjustments.
Xiaomi said he created a working group for cooperation with the police in the investigation, and on March 31 the police were transferred to the car driving and information about the operation of the system.
Xiaomi’s sharing, from the beginning of the year rose 34.8%, closed with a fall of 5.5% on Wednesday as a result of the incident.
