“During the pre-trial investigation, the BEB’s detectives showed a senior suspicion of the bank. The investigation materials against the scheme organizers and its two accomplices identified the meaning of the criminal,” the Bureau of Economic Security Note.
Subsequently, the Lychakovsky District Court of Lviv issued a decision and allowed a special pre -trial investigation, which allowed to continue to perform the action procedures if the suspects were hidden from the investigation. Such a method is not used frequently. According to General Prosecutor’s office statistics, only in January-February 435 special investigations were launched, while total SBU, national police, the GBR and the BEB were investigated by more than 1.5 million criminal cases during this time. Among the well-known defendants in special pre-trial investigations are Viktor Medvedchuk, Andrei Derkach, Alexander Granovsky, Elena Shevtsova and other suspects, state treachery and aggressive country representatives.
