The program includes three main areas – economic restoration, public service and civilian population protection.
The Federal Council of Switzerland at the meeting approved the program in support of restoration, reform and sustainable development in Ukraine for the period of 2025-2028. This was reported by the Swiss government’s press service on Wednesday, February 12.
The Switzerland program to help restore Ukraine as a whole is designed for the period until 2036 and is divided into two stages. The first, in 2025-2028, involved the allocation of 1.5 billion Swiss Francs ($ 1.64 billion).
Funds will be spent as follows:
-
economic recovery (support for the private sector of Ukraine, the restoration of urban infrastructure);
-
public services (support for medical, educational and social services, as well as the functioning of energy supply systems, public transportation, water supply and hygiene);
-
Civilian population protection and peace (human being clearance, finding and identity of missing, documenting and persecuted by violations of international human law and human rights).
The second stage of the Ukrainian Recovery Support Program is designed for 2029-2036, 3.5 billion Francs will be spent.
Remember that earlier Japan announced the creation of the Coordinating Council for the restoration of Ukraine. And Italy has invested 200 million euros in the restoration of the Ukrainian Energy System destroyed by Russia.
