In the interbank market, the American currency lost 2 kopecks in price and fell to 41.97-42.00 UAH/dollar (buying and selling).
For the first time since the beginning of 2025, the National Bank of Ukraine lowered the dollar exchange rate below 42 hryvnia. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Thursday, January 23.
Thus, the official exchange rate for tomorrow is set at 41.9751 hryvnia per 1 dollar (-0.1336 UAH). The lower rate was on December 30, 2024 – 41.9403 UAH/USD.
The official exchange rate of the euro has also dropped significantly and on Friday will be 43.6709 hryvnia (-0.2026 UAH).
On the interbank market, the American currency lost 2 kopecks in price and fell to 41.97-42.00 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
In exchange offices, the dollar exchange rate dropped by 10 kopecks to 42.40 hryvnia.
We remind you that today the NBU has increased the discount rate by 1% to 14.5% per year. Thus, the regulator responded by increasing inflation to 12% by the end of 2024.
It was also reported that high demand for foreign currency remains in the interbank market. National Bank sold more than $1 billion for the second week in a row.
