German armored vehicle manufacturer KNDS Deutschland has officially opened a joint venture with one of the Ukrainian defense companies. This was announced by the Minister of Strategic Industries German Smetanin in Telegram on Tuesday, January 21.
“I am happy to announce the official opening of a joint venture between KMW (KNDS Deutschland) and one of the Ukrainian defense enterprises,” he wrote.
The newly created company specializes in maintenance and repair of military equipment supplied for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The first samples of this technology appeared in Ukraine in 2022.
“Ukrainian specialists have already been trained in Germany, the first systems have already been installed in the facilities,” said Smetanin.
According to him, now the equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be repaired faster. The joint venture’s work will “significantly support the economy with investment and jobs.”
Earlier, the first joint venture with the Rheinmetall concern was launched in Ukraine. The main purpose of the site is the repair of military equipment developed by this German concern. In total, four businesses are planned to be launched.
