The average dollar selling rate decreased to 42.65 hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate decreased to 44.05 hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate strengthened against the dollar at exchange offices for the third day in a row. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Friday, January 17.
The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine decreased by another 15 kopecks to 42.65 Hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate also fell by 15 kopecks to 44.05 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy a dollar for an average of 42.15 Hryvnia, and a euro for 43.35 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 42.13-42.16 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – a decrease of 1 kopeck compared to the previous day’s close.
Yesterday, the National Bank reduced the dollar to Hryvnia exchange rate for the second day in a row – 42.1729 Hryvnia per 1 dollar (-0.0930 UAH). The euro exchange rate is 43.32 UAH (-0.2097 UAH).
Let’s remember that at the beginning of 2025, the demand for foreign currency in the interbank market will increase again. During the week of January 6-10, the NBU sold $1.039 billion. This is 40% more than last week.
It was also reported that at the end of December, Ukraine’s international reserves reached a new record – $43.788 billion. In 2024, reserves will increase by $3.273 billion, or 8.1%.
