The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine fell to 43.00 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate fell to 44.40 Hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate slightly strengthened against the dollar and euro at exchange offices after a significant decline. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with market monitoring data on Monday, January 13.
So, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine decreased by 5 kopecks – to 43.00 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate fell by 10 kopecks – to 44.40 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy a dollar for an average of 42.50 Hryvnia, and a euro for 43.70 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 42.23-42.28 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – a decrease of 2 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
On Friday, the National Bank raised the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia for the sixth time in a row to a historical maximum of UAH 42.2841 (+0.0016 UAH). The official euro exchange rate is 43.5738 UAH (+0.0144 UAH).
At the beginning of 2025, the demand for money in the interbank market increased again. During the week of January 6-10, the NBU sold $1.039 billion. This is 40% more than last week.
It was also reported that at the end of December, Ukraine’s international reserves reached a new record – $43.788 billion. Overall, in 2024, reserves increased by $3.273 billion, or 8.1%.
