Energy experts explain this situation by a significant increase in air temperature in most regions of Ukraine.
For the past two days, electricity consumption has been decreasing in Ukraine. Ukrenergo reported this on Wednesday, January 8.
“Today, electricity consumption, at 9:30, is at the same level as the previous day – Tuesday. Yesterday, January 7, the daily maximum consumption was recorded at night. It was 7.4% more lower than the highest previous working day – Monday, January 6. This is due to a significant increase in air temperature in most regions of Ukraine,” said the message.
It is noted that the situation in the energy system may change. As it continues to recover from 13 massive Russian missile and drone attacks in 2024.
“Emergency restoration work at energy facilities continues to do everything possible to restore damaged equipment to work as quickly as possible and replace equipment destroyed by the enemy,” added Ukrenergo.
Let’s recall that by the end of 2024, distributed gas generation units with a capacity of 967 MW will be connected in Ukraine, of which 835 MW were put into operation last year.
