Ukrainians last year more often bought cars with traditional engines

Models with gasoline engines remained the most popular in the Ukrainian market for new passenger cars.

Traditional powered vehicles accounted for more than 65% of the new passenger car market last year. It was reported by Ukravtoprom.

It was noted that models with gasoline engines remained the most popular in the Ukrainian market of new passenger cars. However, their market share in relation to 2023 has decreased by 7 percentage points – to 40%.

At the same time, the diesel car segment increased from 22.8% to 25.6%. The share of hybrids increased from 17.7% to 19.5%. The share of electric vehicles also increased from 12% to 14.5%. LPG cars account for less than 1% of the market for new passenger cars.

Top sellers are:
  • Gasoline cars – MAZDA CX5;

  • Diesel – RENAULT Duster;

  • Hybrid – TOYOTA RAV-4;

  • Electric – VOLKSWAGEN ID.4;

  • Car with LPG – HYUNDAI Tucson.

We remind you that Ukrainians bought almost 70 thousand new cars in 2024, which is 14% more than in 2023.
