The hryvnia exchange rate began to decline against the dollar in the cash market, but was growing against the euro. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with monitoring data on Friday, January 3.
The selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by 5 kopecks to 42.50 Hryvnia, the euro rate fell by 15 kopecks to 44.20 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy a dollar for an average of 42.00 Hryvnia, and a euro for 43.50 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 42.09-42.12 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – unchanged compared to the previous day’s close.
Yesterday, the National Bank increased the exchange rate of the dollar against the hryvnia after a two-day decline – UAH 42.0385 (+0.0660 UAH). The official euro exchange rate is 43.3753 UAH (-0.2299 UAH).
We remind you that in the past week the National Bank sold more than $1.6 billion in the interbank market. This is the highest volume since the beginning of a full-scale war with Russia.
And now it became known that in December in Ukraine the purchase of foreign currency from banks increased to almost $3 billion.
