The hryvnia exchange rate stabilized against the dollar and euro on the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to monitoring data on Wednesday, January 1.
So, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine remained at 42.50 hryvnia, the euro exchange rate was also stable – 44.40 hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 42.00 Hryvnia, and euros for 43.70 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 41.98-42.03 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – a decrease of 4 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
Yesterday, the National Bank lowered the dollar exchange rate to the hryvnia after it updated its historical maximum – UAH 42.0295 (-0.0095 UAH). The official euro exchange rate is UAH 43.6855 (-0.2411 UAH).
We remind you that in the past week the National Bank sold more than $1.6 billion in the interbank market. This is the highest volume since the beginning of a full-scale war with Russia.
As you know, on December 12, the National Bank unexpectedly increased the discount rate. The regulator made this decision in response to inflation rising to 11.2% in November.
