The average dollar selling rate increased to 42.50 hryvnia, the euro exchange rate remained at 44.40 hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate fell against the dollar on the cash market on the last day of 2024. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with tracking data on Tuesday, December 31.
Thus, the average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by another 10 kopecks to 42.50 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate remained stable – 44.40 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 42.00 Hryvnia, and euros for 43.70 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 42.06-42.09 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – unchanged compared to the previous day’s close.
Yesterday, the National Bank increased the dollar to Hryvnia exchange rate to a new historical high – UAH 42.0390 (+0.0987 UAH). Over the year, the exchange rate increased by 4 hryvnias (10.7%) from 37.98 UAH/dollar on December 31, 2023.
The official euro exchange rate today is 43.9266 UAH (+0.1787 UAH).
We remind you that in the past week the National Bank sold more than $1.6 billion in the interbank market. This is the highest volume since the beginning of a full-scale war with Russia.
As you know, on December 12, the National Bank unexpectedly increased the discount rate. The regulator made this decision in response to inflation rising to 11.2% in November.
