Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt entered into a divorce agreement – a process that lasted eight years.
Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 after claiming Brad Pitt physically abused her and their two children. Pitt denies this. The divorced couple was declared divorced in 2019, but issues of division of property and child custody have been resolved separately until now, writes AP.
Sweat choked one of the children and punched another in the face,” and “grabbed Jolie’s head and shook it,” the lawsuit says.
The actress’s lawyers previously told the court that negotiations to sell Jolie’s stake in the winery fell apart because the actor demanded that she sign “a non-disclosure agreement that would prohibit her from speaking outside of court about Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse of her and their children.”
The lawsuit describes details of the conflict that occurred in September 2016. Then Pitt and Jolie flew from France to California on a private jet with their six children.
Pitt overpowered one of the children and punched another in the face,” and “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her,” the lawsuit says. The statement also says that at some point Pitt poured beer on Jolie, and then on the children with beer and red wine.
Jolie filed for divorce from her husband a few days after the incident. This happened two years after marriage.
Pitt himself denied using violence against children. In December 2018, the actors entered into an agreement on child custody; its details are unknown.
Jolie has already tried to get an investigation into the incident, but the actress was refused to initiate a case.
