The National Bank of Ukraine reduced the dollar’s exchange rate against the hryvnia after the US currency hit a historic high. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Tuesday, December 24.
So, the official exchange rate for tomorrow is set at UAH 41.9875. for 1 dollar (-0.0035 UAH). The euro exchange rate also decreased slightly and will be UAH 43.6334 (-0.0120 UAH).
Today on the interbank market, the American currency lost 9 kopecks in value, at 41.94-41.96 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
In the cash market, the dollar exchange rate increased by 5 kopecks to UAH 42.35.
We remind you that last week the demand for foreign currency in the interbank market rose to its highest level since May 2022. The NBU sold a record 1.417 billion dollars on December 16-20.
As you know, on December 12, the National Bank unexpectedly increased the discount rate. The regulator made this decision in response to inflation rising to 11.2% in November.
