In some vehicles, the tire pressure warning light may not illuminate, not alerting the driver to low tire pressure, especially in cold weather.
The American company Tesla is recalling 700 thousand electric vehicles, including the Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck electric pickup. The cause is a malfunction of the tire pressure monitoring system, which increases the risk of accidents if not corrected. It was reported by Reuters.
Tesla says the problem can be solved through a remote software update. On some vehicles, the tire pressure warning light may not illuminate and not alert the driver that the tire pressure is low. This is especially true in cold weather.
As of December 13, Tesla has received 76 warranty claims and a field report related to this issue.
The company emphasized that there have been no reported crashes, injuries or deaths as a result of the defect.
The issue affects 694.3 thousand 2024 Cybertruck, Model 3 (2017-2024) and Model Y (2020-2025) vehicles.
It was previously reported that Tesla will recall 125,227 vehicles in the United States due to a malfunction in the seat belt warning system.
In April, it became known that Tesla was recalling about four thousand Cybertruck electric vehicles. On these vehicles, the gas pedal cover must be replaced, which may come loose and stick to the casing.
And in January it was reported that Tesla was recalling nearly 200 thousand 2023 Model S, X and Y vehicles due to a software glitch.
