“We fully finance our Defense Forces through taxes, fees, and internal loans. Thanks to our partners, we cover civilian costs,” Shmyhal said.
According to him, the direct budget support for Ukraine by its partners this year will amount to about $41 billion with Ukraine receiving more than 16 billion euros from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility program, and nearly $5.4 billion under the IMF’s cooperation program. .
“The support of the United States, World Bank, Japan, Canada and other partners is also significant… We are grateful to all friends of Ukraine for their solidarity said the government.
He said that for 11 months of 2024, more than UAH 510 billion from the state budget was allocated for social security, UAH 140 billion for the state medical guarantee program, and UAH 163 billion for transfers to the local budget.
“We clearly understand where we will get funds from next year. We expect to attract more than $38 billion in external funding to cover the most important non-military budget expenditures.
