The average cash dollar selling rate increased to UAH 42.35, the euro exchange rate fell to UAH 44.30.
The hryvnia exchange rate continues to decline against the dollar in the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this in connection with monitoring data on Tuesday, December 24.
The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by another 5 kopecks – to 42.35 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate fell by 10 kopecks – to 44.30 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 41.85 hryvnia, euro for 43.60 hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 42.03-42.05 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – so far unchanged compared to the previous day’s close.
Yesterday, the National Bank again increased the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia to a historical maximum – UAH 41.991 (+0.1149 UAH). Since the beginning of the year, the exchange rate has increased by 4 hryvnias (10.6%) from 37.98 UAH/dollar on December 31, 2023.
The official euro exchange rate today is 43.6454 UAH (+0.1340 UAH).
We remind you that last week the demand for foreign currency in the interbank market rose to its highest level since May 2022. The NBU sold a record 1.417 billion dollars on December 16-20.
As you know, on December 12, the National Bank unexpectedly increased the discount rate. The regulator made this decision in response to inflation rising to 11.2% in November.
