In the interbank market, the American currency added 14 kopecks to the price at 42.03-41.05 UAH/dollar (buying and selling).
The National Bank of Ukraine again reduced the hryvnia exchange rate against the dollar after a brief pause. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Monday, December 23.
Thus, the official exchange rate for tomorrow is set at 41.9910 UAH per dollar (+0.1149 UAH). The previous maximum was recorded on December 20 – 41.9292 UAH/dollar. Overall, since the beginning of the year, the exchange rate has increased by 4 hryvnias (10.6%) – from 37.98 UAH/dollar on December 31, 2023.
In turn, the euro also rose in price and on Tuesday it was worth 43.6454 UAH (+0.1340 UAH).

In the cash market, the dollar exchange rate jumped by 20 kopecks to 42.30 hryvnia.
We remind you that last week the demand for foreign currency in the interbank market rose to its highest level since May 2022. The NBU sold a record 1.417 billion dollars on December 16-20.
As you know, on December 12, the National Bank unexpectedly increased the discount rate. The regulator made this decision in response to inflation rising to 11.2% in November.
