The Trade Inspectorate for the Quality of Polish Agricultural and Food Products (IJHARS) in Rzeszow decided to ban the circulation on the Polish market of a batch of durum wheat with a total weight of 21,998 tons imported from in Ukraine. The decision was made “due to the low protein content” in this batch of wheat. The inspectorate announced this on social network X last Friday.
IJHARS has strengthened control over the entry of agricultural products into Poland since March 2024. IJHARS Chief Inspector Przemyslaw Rzodkiewicz said in March that in 2023, 1.4% of product shipments from Ukraine inspected by the border commission rejected.
During the year, Poland introduced a ban on access to its market for 22.59 tons of flax seeds, 46 tons of malting barley, 15.61 tons of Ukrainian ice cream, 10.55 tons of sponge cake, 5.34 tons of bagels with total weight 10.55 tons, imported from Ukraine.
In addition, on April 9, he introduced a ban on three batches of Ukrainian bagels with a total weight of 5.34 tons, 57.66 tons of tomato paste.
