The average dollar selling rate increased to 42.00 hryvnia, and the euro exchange rate increased to 44.35 hryvnia.
The hryvnia exchange rate accelerated its decline against the dollar and euro in the cash market. RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to monitoring data on Monday, December 16.
The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine immediately increased by 20 kopecks to 42.00 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate increased by 15 kopecks to 44.35 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 41.50 Hryvnia, and euros for 43.65 Hryvnia.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 41.71-41.74 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – an increase of 13 kopecks compared to the previous day’s close.
On Friday, the NBU lowered the dollar exchange rate for Monday to the level of UAH 41.6070 (-0.0518 UAH). The official euro exchange rate is 43.7373 UAH (+0.0331 UAH).
Remind us that last week the NBU sold more than $1 billion in the interbank market – the highest volume in the past six months. Since the beginning of the year, the regulator has sold more than $31 billion.
As you know, on December 12, the National Bank unexpectedly increased the discount rate. The regulator made this decision in response to inflation rising to 11.2% in November.
