Poland “will be the first country to implement a mechanism for the return of seized funds,” ARMA said.
The Asset Tracing and Management Agency (ARMA) and the National Prosecutor’s Office of Poland have agreed on a roadmap for the return of illegal withdrawals and seizure of funds in Ukraine. The first case involved the recovery of more than five million US dollars. ARMA reported this on its website on Wednesday, December 11.
The head of ARMA, Elena Duma, noted that the return of funds is planned to be carried out in two ways: as material evidence or within the framework of international legal assistance. Despite attempts to create obstacles on the part of interested parties, both countries have sufficient legal tools to successfully complete the process.
According to him, Poland will be the first country to implement a mechanism for returning seized funds from foreign accounts.
The prosecutor of the Polish procedure confirmed the readiness of Warsaw to ensure the return of funds to Kyiv. In addition, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine is also providing international legal assistance in this case.
“With these funds, ARMA will be able to buy military bonds (Therefore) the funds will not only return to Ukraine, but will also work for the defense capability of our state,” ARMA emphasizes.
We remind you that more than UAH 2.2 billion was transferred to the management of ARMA from the accounts of an online casino associated with representatives of the aggressor state. The defendants even made illegal and unsuccessful attempts to expropriate the properties transferred to ARMA.
