The company became the leader in the rating of the largest enterprises in Ukraine according to Forbes Ukraine, and its seven top managers were included in the list of the best managers.
Group of companies Metinvest topped the rating of the largest private enterprises in Ukraine according to Forbes Ukraine magazine. Journalists compared the business with a profit of 4.7 billion UAH to Rinat Akhmetov’s company winning the figure of 270.5 billion UAH in 2023.
The top five of the rating includes another business of Akhmetov – DTEK, as well as ATB, Fozzy Group and Kernel.
The publication analyzed the financial indicators of companies for 2023 and the first half of 2024 as a source of financial data and information on the number of employees, using the YouControl system, indicators provided by companies, as well which is also its own analytical calculations.

According to Forbes, Metinvest recovered from the loss of large assets (AzovstalMMK named after Ilyich and Avdeevsky Coke Plant): in the first half of 2024, EBITDA (earnings before taxes, credits, depreciation and amortization) increased by 33% to $650 million. Metinvest This number is explained by the almost doubling of iron ore production, to 8.9 million tons.
“We were able to increase production at our mining and processing plants thanks to the opening of Odessa ports,” said the company’s general director, Yuriy Ryzhenkov.
The CEO himself Metinvest included in the ranking of the best managers in the metallurgical industry. Also among those mentioned by Forbes Ukraine are the general directors of the group’s enterprises: Andrey Akulich (Metinvest Pokrovskogol), Igor Tonev (Inguletsky, Northern and Central Mining and Processing Plant), Alexander Tretyakov (Kametstal) and Taras Shevchenko, acting CEO of Zaporizhstal.
