The Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft state budget for 2025 before the second reading in the Verkhovna Rada. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced this on Telegram on Friday, November 8.
According to him, despite the introduction of some changes, the main priority remained the same – defense, defense capabilities and security of Ukraine.
“We propose to allocate UAH 2 trillion 225 billion for these needs all funds from Ukrainian taxpayers will go only to providing security and defense forces, to the production and purchase of new weapons, drones and equipment,” Shmygal wrote.
The social sphere, education and medicine remain among the budget priorities.
The head of the government said that budget expenditures were increased by UAH 50 billion for the second reading:

An additional 24 billion UAH for education. Of these funds: 12 billion for additional payment to teachers and another 12 billion for investment projects in the education sector;

Additional 6.3 billion UAH for medicine;

Additional UAH 5 billion to support veterans;

For the repair of road sections important for the defense and functioning of the state economy – UAH 12.6 billion.

“This draft budget addresses the main challenges facing our state. It is our guarantee that Ukraine will have the necessary resources to survive, win and become stronger,” concluded Shmygal.
