A “big area” for cooperation between the government, business and public organizations is the creation of more programs that will help Ukrainians to be more competitive in the labor market, according to the Ministry of Economy.
The lack of personnel in Ukraine has become the main problem for business, said Deputy Minister of Economy Tatyana Berezhnaya. According to research, about 4.5 million additional workers are needed to restore the labor market. It was reported by Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday, November 7th.
Berezhnaya noted the importance of creating programs for retraining and activating the economically inactive population, which amounts to about 8 million people.
“The Ministry of Economy conducted a separate study and we found that we need 4.5 million additional workers in the labor market,” he said.
Berezhnaya also added that a “huge area” for cooperation between the government, business, and public organizations is the creation of more programs that will help Ukrainians become more competitive in the labor market.
According to him, Ukraine already has retraining and voucher programs, as well as Coursera and its Reskill professional development project, which provides 30 thousand scholarships.
“But at the same time, this is a drop in the ocean, because in Ukraine there are about 8 million economically inactive within the state. These are people who are not looking for work for some reasons due to disability, or it are veterans who have not found themselves on the labor market, or women who cannot combine family responsibilities and work responsibilities,” Berezhnaya emphasized.
We remind you that stopping bookings has become a very serious problem, as businesses can be left without critical workers.
