Ukraine has the second result in honey supplies to the EU, making up 28% of all imports of this product by the countries of the bloc.
Exports of Ukrainian honey to EU countries in January-June 2024 reached 40.6 thousand tons worth $70.7 million. USA. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food with reference to data from the State Customs Service and State Statistics Service.
Ukraine exports most of its honey to EU countries and the USA. It was found that honey export in 2023 reached 55.4 thousand tons worth $121.4 million. USA, including European Union countries – 45.8 thousand tons (93.6% of total exports) worth $94.9 million. In the first half of 2024, the volume of honey exports to EU countries reached 40.6 thousand tons worth $70.7 million.
According to the Deputy Director of the Department of Agrarian Development of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Elena Dadus, the markets of European Union countries are key for the export of honey, because Ukraine is the second result in supplies of honey in the EU, which accounts for 28% of all imports of this product by bloc countries.
Data from the Register of Export Capacities shows that about 72 Ukrainian enterprises supply honey abroad.
We remind you that from August 21, Ukrainian honey imported by EU countries is subject to tariff quotas of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) between Ukraine and the EU.
