The average maturity of government debt is more than 11 years. As of September 30, Ukraine’s public and guaranteed debt stood at 6.409 trillion hryvnias, or $155.7 billion.
In the third quarter of 2024, the volume increased in hryvnia equivalent by 241 billion hryvnia, and in dollar equivalent by $3.5 billion, mainly due to an increase in long-term concessional financing from international partners, including from the EU within Finance Facility of Ukraine. instrument.
In terms of creditors, the majority of government and guaranteed debt consists of concessional loans received from international financial organizations (IFOs) and foreign governments – 58%, securities issued in the domestic market account for 27%, securities issued in the foreign market – 12%, and loans received from commercial banks and other financial institutions – 3%.
In terms of the structure of government currency and guaranteed debt, the share of the euro is 36%, hryvnia – 25%, dollar – 24%, SDR – 11%, and in other currencies, in particular sterling, Canadian dollars and Japanese yen – 4%.
