In fact, not all Ukrainians are welcome abroad and this is not part of the plan to bring them home, the president said.

Many Ukrainian citizens will return from European countries when their social support ends. President Vladimir Zelensky said this at a meeting with the leaders of communities and regions of Transcarpathia on Thursday, October 31.

According to him, in fact, not all Ukrainians are very happy to see abroad and this is not part of the plan to bring them home, but the facts.

“The relevant countries and their leaders want Ukrainians working there to stay. At the same time, they are looking for ways to force unemployed Ukrainians to return to Ukraine. For example, in Germany today there are more than out of 1.1 million Ukrainians, of which at least 300,000 do not work anywhere, and do not even try to find a job in the whole of Europe,” said Zelensky.

In his opinion, a significant part of these people will return because the benefits and social support that are now available abroad will disappear.

“They will disappear not thanks to us the countries will only stop helping them as soon as their societies (these countries – ed.) support the decision that the Ukrainians will not have to pay, at that moment the countries all to stop paying,” he said.

At the same time, Zelensky noted that there is a certain percentage of Ukrainians who are just waiting for the end of the war to return.

We remind you that Germany plans to review payments to Ukrainian refugees and change their legal status. It will save billions of euros.

It has also been reported that Norway has started denying temporary protection to Ukrainians arriving in the country from “safe” regions.
