Currently, all nine power units of nuclear power plants located in Ukrainian-controlled territory are operating at maximum power.
NAEC Energoatomafter completing the planned repair of all nuclear power plants controlled by Ukraine, operates all nine units, providing power reserve. This was announced by the head of the company, Petr Kotin.
“We have all nine units in operation, which provide the power needed by the energy system,” emphasized Kotin.
He ensured that nuclear generation has a power reserve.
“We have a large reserve of power, which we can add if necessary,” the NAEC chief explained.
Currently Energoatom controls the Rivne, Khmelnytsky and South Ukrainian nuclear power plants. NAEC estimates the total installed capacity of the nine power units at 8.13 GW.
NAEC has been reported earlier Energoatom successfully completed the 2024 repair campaign and prepared all 9 Ukrainian-controlled power units for winter operation.
The United States, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), transferred a batch of materials to Ukraine to protect energy infrastructure facilities.
