Last week, sunflower prices in Ukraine rose again significantly, reaching a new maximum since the end of May 2021. This was confirmed by IA monitoring APK-Inform.
Official purchase prices of processors during this period reached 22,500-24,500 UAH/t CPT.
“Companies reported that the supply of oilseeds increased slightly, but remained insufficient. Therefore, those who need urgent replenishment of stocks to fulfill contractual obligations for oil increased prices more actively ( up to +1000 UAH/t) compared to last week. and ready to pay extra for large volumes and oil content,” the message said.
Analysts noted that the increase in prices is currently driven by the increase in the cost of sunflower oil for export. At the same time, an increasing number of processors report that processing profitability is low or almost non-existent.
The historical maximum price for sunflower in Ukraine was recorded in March 2021 – 25500-27400 UAH/t CPT.
