Ukrainian investigators exposed a scheme for supplying fertilizers from the Republic of Belarus to Ukraine, organized by the company Oscar Optima.
Belarusian producer of mineral fertilizers Grodno Azot supplied its products to Ukraine through Russia. This was reported by the Belarusian-language edition of Radio Liberty in connection with the decision of the Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv.
The journalists said that the document states that the investigators exposed a scheme for the supply of fertilizers to Ukraine from Belarus, organized by the Ukrainian company Oscar Optima.
Grodno Azot sends its products to the port of Rostov, from where it is transported to the port of Burgas in Bulgaria, and then to the port of the Bulgarian city of Ruse on the Danube, and from there the products are transported to Izmail .
At customs, the fertilizers were cleared on the basis of fake certificates of origin from Turkmenistan. But they do not produce such fertilizers there.
The supplies were made through the company Agro chain general trading LLC, registered in the UAE. Its leaders are Turkish citizens.
Communication with the managers of Agro chain general trading LLC was found on the phone of one of the employees of Oscar Optima. So it is possible to establish that the fertilizers are actually supplied by Grodno Azot.
Ukraine imposed sanctions on Grodno Azot after Belarus backed an all-out invasion of Russia. EU sanctions against such companies are in effect from 2021.
As we wrote earlier, Belarus probably exchanges sanctioned goods from several countries – Nicaragua, Venezuela and Cuba – in exchange for its own.
