London has imposed sanctions against ships and organizations linked to the export of Russian liquefied gas.
The UK has imposed sanctions against five ships and two shipping organizations linked to the transport of Russian liquefied natural gas. This was reported by the press service of the British government on Thursday, September 26.
The new sanctions include the companies White Fox Ship Management and Ocean Speedstar Solutions OPC, as well as the vessels Asya Energy, Pioneer, North Sky, SCF La Perouse and Nova Energy.
Earlier this year, the UK imposed sanctions against Arctic LNG-2 including the US and the EU.
“The project has since been forced to reduce production. Actions are now being developed here, targeting vessels and organizations involved in the Russian LNG sector that are involved in projects important to the future of the production of energy in Russia,” it said.
The liquefied natural gas sector is the most important source of financing for the Russian Federation’s illegal war in Ukraine. Russia plans to increase its revenues as it seeks to increase its global market share in the liquefied natural gas sector from 8% to 20%.
Let us remind you that recently the Baltic countries and Poland have called for the abandonment of liquefied gas from the Russian Federation.
In April, the Russian company Novatek suspended production on a major project Arctic LNG 2 due to sanctions and shortage of tankers.
