Ukraine can be a supplier of ammunition components and contribute to the development of sensor technologies.
Saab intends to establish production in Ukraine. This was said by the CEO of the Swedish defense equipment manufacturer, Mikael Johansson, Reuters wrote on Wednesday, September 25.
According to him, Saab sees potential in cooperation with Ukrainian companies in drone capabilities. Ukraine can be a supplier of ammunition components and contribute to the development of sensor technologies.
“We need to help Ukraine build independent capacity and capabilities, and to do this we need to work in partnership with Ukrainian industry that is in Ukraine and those that have moved outside of Ukraine,” Johansson said.
Saab is currently negotiating with two or three companies to set up local production, but the agreement has not yet been finalized.
Let’s recall that earlier the Estonian defense company Frankenburg Technologies announced the start of production of anti-drone missile systems in Ukraine.
German defense giant Rheinmetall plans to build at least four factories in Ukraine to produce weapons.
