In Ukraine, the electricity tariff for consumers of the last resort supplier has been temporarily increased.
The National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the field of energy and utilities, has increased the price of electricity for customers of “last resort” suppliers. The corresponding decision was made at a NEURC meeting on Tuesday, September 24.
The procedure for setting the price of electricity for consumers of the “last resort” supplier (LSR) has been changed towards its increase for the period from October 1 to December 31, 2024.
The regulator, in particular, increased for three months the coefficient used to determine the price of electricity for PPN consumers based on the weighted average price of electricity in the day-ahead market (DAM) from 1.25 to 1.5.
Now, the electricity price for PPN consumers for the billing month is determined taking into account the weighted average actual electricity price in DAM for the first 20 days of the previous billing period, increased by a factor which takes into account the risks of price fluctuations in the balancing market (BR) and DAM in the amount of 1.25.
We remind you that electricity bills have increased in Ukraine since June 1. The Cabinet of Ministers established a fixed price for electricity for the population at 4.32 UAH/kWh.
