Ukraine continues to be a donor of global food security for dozens of countries around the world, despite the war and fear of Russia.
For more than a year of operation of the export sea corridor, Ukraine transported 70 million tons of cargo. More than 2,500 ships have left the ports, President Vladimir Zelensky said on Facebook on Wednesday, September 18.
“Despite the war and fear of Russia, Ukraine continues to be a donor of global food security for dozens of countries around the world. And we are increasing our capabilities,” the president wrote.
According to Zelensky, countries from Egypt to Indonesia, from Tunisia and Libya to India, from Algeria to China received Ukrainian grain.
“Thank you for the humanitarian initiative Grain from Ukraine in Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen and Sudan, at least hundreds of thousands of families and millions of people received the necessary food,” said the head of state and thanked everyone working for Ukraine’s export potential.
Let’s remember that last week Russia attacked a grain ship in the Black Sea with a missile.
