The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a search for Andriy Odarchenko, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party, after he failed to appear at a court hearing today.
Also, the bail amount of 15 million UAH, which was previously paid by Odarchenko (he is accused of attempting to bribe the head of the State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure, Mustafa Nayem), will be collected for the benefit of the state.
During the hearing, the SAP prosecutor stated that Odarchenko is likely abroad.
At the same time, he surrendered his foreign passports after posting bail, as required. And according to the court’s decision, he was supposed to wear an electronic bracelet, but the police never put it on Odarchenko.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the MP could have left through the Zakarpattia region and crossed the border outside the checkpoint.
Ukrainian media wrote that Odarchenko has a close relationship with the excavator of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, Viktor Nikita, whom the president recently appointed deputy head of the OP.
NABU says that Odarchenko illegally left the country.
Odarchenko is accused of attempting to bribe the former head of the State Agency for Restoration, Mustafa Nayem. He was sent to prison in 2023 but was eventually released on bail.
