The underground stabilization station provides resuscitation, treatment and maintenance of patients until discharge or evacuation to a rear hospital facility.
Rinat Akhmetov’s Metinvest group, in coordination with the medical forces of Vostok, created the first underground stabilization point in Ukraine to save soldiers on the front line. The group’s press service reported this on Tuesday, September 3.
The Steel Hospital provides resuscitation, treatment and maintenance of patients until discharge or evacuation to a rear hospital facility.
Metinvest said that the base for the hospital was previously built of steel bunkers, “hiding places,” which were modernized and structurally changed in accordance with the needs of military doctors. The entire structure is based on six large steel bunkers and is equipped with ventilation, water supply, drainage and energy supply systems, and is also equipped with high-power electronic warfare systems and alternative power sources.
“The staff level of the hospital corresponds to the level of field hospitals of the second echelon (Role/Echelon 2) according to NATO standards in the construction of a steel underground hospital and its provision with equipment worth more than UAH 20 million was implemented within the framework of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front initiative,” added the press – service of the group.
Specifically, the hospital is equipped with oxygen concentrators, ventilators, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, operating equipment and lighting, sterilizers, patient heating systems, and medical furniture.
According to Metinvest’s operating director, Alexander Mironenko, this is the most ambitious and complex project the group has had to implement since the beginning of the massive Russian invasion.
Let’s recall that mass production and supplies of steel “cache” bunkers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were reported last spring. In the winter of this year, Metinvest began the production of steel headquarters bunkers.
