The National Bank lowered the official dollar exchange rate, while on the interbank market the American currency rose slightly in price.
The National Bank of Ukraine lowered the exchange rates of the dollar and euro against the hryvnia on the last working day of the week. The price of the dollar fell for the third day in a row, and the euro retreated from its record high, according to data on the regulator’s website on Friday, August 23.
So, the official dollar exchange rate for Monday is set at UAH 41.2236 (-0.0645 UAH). The euro fell significantly in price and was worth 45.8406 UAH (-0.1420 UAH).
On the interbank market, the price of the American currency increased by 1 kopeck – up to 41.29-41.31 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
In the cash market, the dollar fell by 10 kopecks to 41.45 hryvnia.
We remind you that yesterday the dollar fell to its lowest level in a year against the euro and pound sterling against the backdrop of the policies pursued by the US Federal Reserve.
The euro/dollar exchange rate rose to 1.1175 for the first time since July 2023. The dollar index, which measures the currency against the euro, pound, yen and three other major currencies, was 101.19.
