The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased to UAH 41.55, and the euro exchange rate increased to UAH 46.10.
The hryvnia exchange rate fell against the dollar and euro on the cash market. At the same time, the European currency is actively increasing in price due to exchange rate changes in the international market, RBC-Ukraine reported on Thursday, August 22.
The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine increased by 5 kopecks – to 41.55 Hryvnia, the euro exchange rate increased by 15 kopecks – to 46.10 Hryvnia.
Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 41.00 UAH, and euros for 45.40 UAH.
In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 41.37-41.39 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – 3 kopecks higher compared to the previous day’s close.
Yesterday, the National Bank reduced the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia after three days of growth – 41.2975 UAH (-0.0484 UAH).
In turn, the euro exchange rate is 45.8980 UAH (+0.0785 UAH). This is a new all-time high. The previous one was recorded yesterday, August 21 – 45.8195 UAH.
The publication notes that the dollar has now fallen to its lowest level in a year against the euro and pound sterling against the backdrop of the policies being followed by the US Federal Reserve.
The euro/dollar exchange rate rose to 1.1175 for the first time since July 2023. The dollar index, which measures the currency against the euro, pound, yen and three other major currencies, was 101.19.
We remind you that in July, Ukrainians bought a record amount of cash currency for 12 years – $2.775 billion. Net purchases were $1.117 billion.
