Mining equipment is needed for coal mining, which in winter will be actively used by thermal power plants.
In January-July 2024, DTEK’s engine builders produced around 800 pieces of equipment to support coal production. Among the keys are nine tunneling and shearing machines, the press service of the energy holding reported on Wednesday, August 21.
It is indicated that the machine builders also provided the needs of the miners with 618 thousand spare parts and components.
“To make thermal power plants more reliable in winter and balance the energy system, they must also be provided with sufficient coal reserves. To do this, miners introduce new faces of coal, and engine builders, is in turn providing them with the necessary mining equipment,” said the general director DTEK Energy Ildar Saleev.
Remind us that in the first half of 2024, DTEK allocated about 1.5 billion Hryvnias of its own funds for the repair of thermal power plants. Power plants are preparing for the next heating season.
It was also reported that since the beginning of the year, Russian attacks have destroyed 90% of the capacity of DTEK’s thermal power plants.
