The dollar returned to decline, the euro became more expensive

The average selling rate of the dollar in Ukraine decreased to UAH 41.50, the euro rate increased to UAH 45.90.

The hryvnia exchange rate strengthened slightly against the dollar in the cash market after several days of decline. Meanwhile, the single European currency rose again in price, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing monitoring data on Wednesday, August 21.

The average dollar selling rate in Ukraine decreased by 5 kopecks to 41.50 Hryvnia, the euro rate increased by 5 kopecks to 45.90 Hryvnia.

Today, exchange offices buy dollars for an average of 41.00 UAH, and euros for 45.20 UAH.

In the interbank market, the American currency is at the level of 41.32-41.37 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) – 3 kopecks lower compared to the previous day’s close.

The National Bank yesterday increased the dollar exchange rate against the hryvnia for the third day in a row – 41.3459 UAH (+0.0432 UAH). In turn, the euro is worth 45.8195 UAH (+0.2110 UAH). This is the second consecutive all-time high.

We remind you that in July, Ukrainians bought a record amount of cash currency for 12 years – $2.775 billion. Net purchases were $1.117 billion.
