On August 8, the rate officially set by the regulator was 40.98 UAH/dollar and 44.76 UAH/euro, respectively.
The National Bank set the official exchange rate of the hryvnia to the dollar on Friday, August 9, at 40.9926 UAH/USD, compared to 40.9847 UAH/USD. This was confirmed by data on the regulator’s website on Thursday, August 8.
Therefore, closer to the end of the week, the regulator stopped strengthening the hryvnia.
While the hryvnia exchange rate to the euro fell by 4 kopecks – to 44.8090 UAH per euro.

We remind you that in July, Ukrainians bought a record amount of cash currency for 12 years – $2.775 billion. Net purchases were $1.117 billion.
It was also reported that over the past week the structural deficit of foreign currency decreased in the interbank market – the NBU sold $784.63 million. This is 17.4% lower than last week.
