Gabryell Urlan talked about the beginning of her career: “In the beginning, it wasn’t supposed to be all that; the intention wasn’t to have this persona. My family didn’t accept it, they thought I needed to go to college, get a degree, be a ‘normal’ person. The first opportunity I had to go online, I grabbed it. First, I went viral with comedy videos and then I moved on to makeup, the famous challenges. From the makeup videos, I gave life to my drag queen and today I feel fulfilled in everything I do, because it’s literally a story, a ladder.”
Alicia X, who considers herself bisexual, explained the differences between bisexuality and pansexuality. “Bi comes from duality, from two, man and woman. Pan is more about energy, it’s more spiritual, you’re attracted to the person regardless of their sexuality.” Lucas Souza, who recently published an open letter about his sexual orientation, shared his experience of coming out as pansexual.
“When I made my orientation public, I talked about bisexuality, which was something that society would understand more easily. Then, as time went by, I said: I’m going to talk about pansexuality, because it’s so good to feel free, regardless of whether you’re a man, a woman, or trans. This freedom is really good.”
Lucas De Vito, an LGBT+ psychologist, discussed the prejudices and stigmas surrounding bisexuality. “Bisexuality is always aimed at men. If a man considers himself bi, it’s because he’s gay and doesn’t want to come out. A woman, on the other hand, comes out as bi, because she’s being a bisexual and likes men. Bisexuality brings uncertainty, it’s like someone who shows that things aren’t that easy.”
