The demand for used cars from abroad is growing in Ukraine

In total, since the beginning of the year, almost 133.3 thousand used cars underwent their first registration in Ukraine, which is 26% more than in the same period in 2023.

In July, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with 20 thousand used passenger cars imported from abroad. Ukravtoprom reported this on Thursday, August 8.

So, compared to July 2023, registrations of such cars increased by 6%. While compared to June, this number increased by almost 8%.

The largest share in this segment of the car market belongs to gasoline cars – 48%. At the same time, diesel engines have 23%; electric vehicles – 19%; hybrid and cars with LPG – 5% each.

The average age of used cars that switched to Ukrainian license plates in July was 8.7 years.

The most popular moon models include:

1. VOLKSWAGEN Golf – 913 units;

2. RENAULT Megane – 836 units;

3. SKODA Octavia – 687 units;

4. VOLKSWAGEN Passat – 618 units;

5. VOLKSWAGEN Tiguan – 575 units;

6. NISSAN Leaf – 529 units;

7. AUDI Q5 – 506 units;

8. NISSAN Rogue – 467 units;

9. TESLA Model 3 – 433 units;

10. AUDI A4 – 429 units.

In total, since the beginning of the year, almost 133.3 thousand used cars underwent their first registration in Ukraine, which is 26% more than in the same period in 2023.

In June, almost 4.2 thousand battery powered vehicles (BEV) were registered in Ukraine.

Over the past six months, 21.2 thousand used cars from the United States of America were registered in Ukraine. That is, 19% of the used cars that switched to Ukrainian license plates from January to June were from the USA.

We remind you that over the year the demand for used cars in Ukraine has increased by 34%.
